App State students publish "Perceptions of Charitable Giving"

A group of students in my COM 3928 research course achieved a great accomplishment.

It was announced yesterday their research paper "Perceptions of Charitable Giving:
Discovering and Understanding Societal Views to Maximize the Ability to Build Homes, Hopes, and Futures" was published in Explorations, the Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities for the State of North Carolina. The journal was released in conjunction with the annual State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS).

The research project was developed through our distance education major, in an Internet-mediated course. Each submission was reviewed by two to three volunteer faculty reviewers from across the state. The final volume represents the work of 26 students and 16 faculty mentors at eleven colleges and universities.

Bottom line, hard work and a hunger to learn were motivators. Thanks to Jenna Friday and Sarah Meyer for their diligent work. And also a shout out to James Simpson, who was part of the original research team.
